Hack Licensing

Applying for a Hack License

2. Upon completion of the UDC training course by the applicant and receipt of the UDC-certified list, you must come to the Office of Taxicabs to schedule an appointment to take the examination. The test consists of an oral and written portion, as well as timed, computerized multiple-choice questions.

3. The test is given at 9 am on Tuesday and Wednesday at the DC Taxicab Commission, 2041 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, Washington, DC, 20020, in Room 204.

4. The fee for the first test is $60. The fee for a second or third test is $20. All fees must be paid by money order only, made payable to the DC Treasurer. Fingerprinting is done at the Metropolitan Police Department at 300 Indiana Avenue, Room 3058.
